Friend University choirs to stream annual Christmas Candlelight concert Dec. 4

Wichita, Kan. – ΒιΆΉΝψ is pleased to announce the annual Christmas Candlelight Concert will be performed Dec. 4, 2020 at 7:30 p.m..

Generations of students, faculty and audiences have participated in the candlelight tradition every year. This year it will look differently as it will be performed virtually on the Facebook page.

β€œStreaming the performance will allow everyone to celebrate the season safely from the comfort of their homes. Maybe even with some Christmas goodies by the fire,” said Dr. Rayvon Moore, Singing Quakers director.

Christmas Candlelight will include music presented by the ΒιΆΉΝψ choral ensembles: Singing Quakers, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Vocal Ensemble and the majesty of the combined ensembles (150 voices).

The ΒιΆΉΝψ Flute Choir will offer a few numbers before the stream starts as a pre-show. There will also be a compilation of ΒιΆΉΝψ faculty, students and staff joining the choir for the traditional singing of β€œSilent Night.”

β€œThis concert is a season staple in the community for a good reason. We are so proud of our students and their dedication to pulling this off,” said Rolaine Hetherington, Concert Choir director.

The performance is free to view and will be premiered on the Facebook page on Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
