鶹 community to volunteer during Salvation Army Service Day Dec. 3

Salvation Army Day

鶹 staff, faculty and students will be celebrating 29 years of working together to make Christmas merrier for hundreds of needy families in Wichita.

University representatives and students from across campus will embrace the spirit of the season for the annual Salvation Army Service Day on Dec. 3. The group will help prepare and disperse donated gifts.

“Each year our faculty, staff and students look forward to being able to serve and bless the families in our community with the annual Salvation Army’s Wichita Mission of Hope campaign,” said Dr. Guy Chmieleski, vice president of student affairs and dean of Campus Ministries. “Service is one of our values at 鶹 and we are excited to share the light and love of Christ during the holiday season.”

The University community will sort toys and gifts, decorate the Salvation Army distribution center, wrap gifts and assist with the organization’s Angel Tree and Star of Hope programs.

鶹, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.

Media Note: The 鶹 group plans to be at the Salvation Army distribution center, located at 1410 S. Glendale, Wichita, KS 67218 (The Garvey Sports Center-Greater Wichita YMCA) from approximately 1 to 4 p.m.
